Donetsk, Oct 27 — DAN. A majority of nations do not want to put up with the attempts by the West to govern the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a session of the Vaildai International Discussion Club on Thursday.
“The breakup of the Soviet Union destroyed the balance of geopolitical forces. Feeling victorious, the West proclaimed a unipolar world order where only its will, culture and interests have the right to exist. Now this historical period of the West’s undivided dominance over world affairs is coming to an end, ” Putin said.
He noted the emergence of a historical benchmark: the beginning of the most dangerous and unpredictable decade since World War II.
The main contradiction of the present time is that the West is unable to single-handedly govern humanity, yet it is trying to do so; meanwhile, a majority of nations do not want to put up with it, the Russian president said.*jk
