Donetsk, Jun 14 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova has met with Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party Assistant Secretary General Hilal al-Hilal on Tuesday, the DPR Foreign Ministry press service reported.
“The parties noted good progress in implementation of the interaction and cooperation agreement between the Donetsk Republic social movement and Ba’ath Party signed in December 2021, and discussed a broad range of options towards promoting bilateral cooperation in several fields including economy. The DPR diplomat said that the Mariupol port had begun full-fledged operation and drew attention to prospects of seaborne trade with Syria, ” the report said.
The DPR delegation includes Culture Minister Mikhail Zhelyakov, First Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Peresada, first deputy chief of staff of the DPR leader’s administration Gennady Lebed, DPR deputy parliament speaker Sergey Prokopenko and DPR parliament member Valery Skorokhodov. Russian Federation representatives led by State Duma deputy Dmitry Sablin took part in the meeting.
The DPR and Syria cooperate in in the field of economy, politics, education, culture etc. Last week, Culture Minister Mikhail Zheltyakov visited Syria to meet with his Syrian counterpart. The parties discussed ideas to develop cooperation including the opportunities for mutual tours of artists.*jk
