Donetsk, Sep 14 — DAN. The Russian government will allocate one billion rubles for repairs of the Mariupol seaport in 2023, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Thursday.
“The city accommodates the only deepwater port on the Azov Sea through which thousands of tons of construction materials, vital goods and raws are trans-shipped, ” the government press service quoted Mishustin as saying. “However, Mariupol port key facilities need repairs. We’re allocating some one billion rubles for the purpose this year.”
The Mariupol port resumed operation in late May 2022 as it dispatched the first vessel with a load of metal products to the Rostov region. The port became a transport hub which receives construction materials for rebuilding the region and dispatches grain ships.*jk
