Donetsk, Nov 9 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic and Russia’s Union of Independent Networks are working on ways to attract chain stores from other regions to the DPR, the regional Industry and Trade Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency.

“As of today, the Rostov and Arkhangelsk regions  are expressing an interest in launching supermarket chains, ” said the Ministry which is in talks with distributors of the country’s largest producers over  supplies of goods with minimum markups.

In April, Russian chain store owners made a two-day visit to the Republic to assess local retailers and inspect tentative locations for their supermarkets. DAN reported in July that a number of chain stores from other regions had launched repairs on the buildings they had leased to accommodate their supermarkets. *jk
