Mariupol, May 18 - DAN. Several Russian regions will help rebuild Mariupol after the military action, the DPR Head Denis Pushilin told journalists today.

“Mariupol will be assigned to more than one region (of Russia), since it is a large city, and there is a massive destruction. Several regions are very likely to respond to help rebuild the city,” he said.

According to Pushilin, the city is planned to be developed as a resort.

"This is the desire of the people. At the same time, the authorities do not abandon plans to restore industrial enterprises. “Everything that is “alive” is planned to be restored,” he added.

Mariupol is the largest city on the coast of the Sea of   Azov, one of the key centres of metallurgy in Donbass and a major seaport. The battle for the city began on February 25. Currently, Mariupol has been liberated, the remaining Azov militants are blocked at the Azov Steel works. *ot
