Mariupol, Sep 26 — DAN. A new multifunctional medical centre opened today in the Oktyabrskiy district of Mariupol, DAN correspondent reports from the location.

The ceremony was attended by Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, Mayor of Mariupol Konstantin Ivashchenko and others.

Pushilin and Khusnullin cut the red ribbon and, together with doctors and builders, inspected the centre.

“We believe that this event is of great importance. People have long lived in anticipation of what will happen. We pledged to restore Mariupol in three years, we will restore it, and not only Mariupol, and all the territories that were destroyed, ” Khusnullin said at the opening.

The DPR leader expressed confidence that the new medical unit would improve the quality of medical care.

The facility has been constructed by the forces of the military construction complex of the Russian Ministry of Defence since July. It comprises a diagnostic unit and a IC. The total area of   the centre is over 5,000 square meters housing 60 isolation beds. The main specialization of the institution is to help patients with airborne infection, in particular, coronavirus.

Mariupol is the largest city on the coast of the Sea of Azov, one of the key centres of metallurgy in Donbass and a major seaport. *ot
