Donetsk, May 3 — DAN. A brickworks will be built near the city of Mariupol in the future, Donetsk People’s Republic Prime Minister Yevgeny Solntsev said on Wednesday.

“There’s large-scale construction ahead, so local brick production will cut building materials delivery costs and help keep the high rate of repair works, ” Solntsev said after a meeting with Kursk region Minister of Natural Resources Konstantin Polyakov and head of the Regional Development Corporation Vladimir Lukin. “Most importantly, new jobs will be created.”

The construction of the brick making factory would begin in late 2023 or early 2024. The officials has reached an accord on building gas supply lines to five education facilities in the sponsored Pershotravnevy district, he said.

Earlier reports said that the Kursk region would help the Pershotravnevy district in southern DPR repair and restore 19 civil infrastructure facilities this year.

The Pershotravnevy district is located west of Mariupol and has an area of almost 800 square kilometers. Mangush is the district center. It was liberated from Ukrainian troops in March 2022. Local economy is largely based on agricultural production. In June 2022, district authorities signed a cooperation agreement with the Kursk region. Last year, the sponsor helped repair 20 apartment buildings and 260 single family homes, as well as 15 social facilities in the Pershotravnevoye district.*jk
