Donetsk, Nov 9 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic can meet electricity shortages in the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhye region in an emergency, said the Russian Energy Ministry.
“The Republic has a full array of its own generation capacities and can organize cross flows of electric energy to the LPR and Zaporozhye region, ” the Ministry told the Donetsk News Agency.
DAN earlier reported that the Ministry planned to modernize the Novoazovsk wind power plant and the Uglegorsk thermal power plant. Russian energy officials said that works had been completed on the first stage of the Azov Ring” that links the power grids of the new regions, the Republic of Crimea, the Rostov region and the Krasnodar Territory.*jk
