Donetsk, Dec 19 — DAN. More than 1,000 boiler houses across the Donetsk People’s Republic have resumed operation following power grid repairs, the regional Construction, Housing and Utilities Ministry reported on Tuesday.

“As of 9:00, December 19, 1,030 of 1,250 boiler houses were functioning including 229 in Donetsk, 154 in Makeyevka and 104 in Gorlovka, ” the Ministry said adding that utility companies were making all efforts to start supplying heat to social infrastructure facilities and residential buildings.

On Tuesday morning, power supply was restored to all boiler houses in Debaltsevo, Dokuchayevsk, Yenakiyevo, Uglegorsk, Khartsyzsk, and the Volodarskoye, Novazovsk, Pershotravnevoye and Telmanovo districts, regional authorities said.

The recent icing storms in the DPR and neighboring regions caused damage to property and infrastructure, and disrupted power, water and heat supply. As of 10:00, 93,800 customers in the DPR remained without electricity, the Russian Energy Ministry said.*jk
