Donetsk, Aug 6 – DAN. The DPR has criminalized insulting dignity and honor of WWII veterans, DAN correspondent reports from a parliamentary meeting.
The bill was tabled by a member of the Criminal and Administrative Law Committee Natalia Polyanskaya.
"We suggest to treat public promulgation of information known to be false concerning WWII veterans as a form of Nazism rehabilitation. Such offense should entail criminal liability," she said.
The document must be endorsed "to withstand attempts to falsify historic facts and protect historical memory and to prevent diluting of the value of people's heroism when defending their Motherland."
The bill has been endorsed by 69 deputies present at the meeting.*ot
