Donetsk, Nov 10 — DAN. The regional Department for Labor and Social Protection of the Population has registered some 2,000 low income families in the Donetsk People’s Republic, a DPR Labor and Social Policy Ministry official said.

To improve their financial position and change their status in 2024, the Republic will adopt regional laws on new approach to family needs assessment, and on social contracts to facilitate self-employment and poverty reduction, Head of the Ministry’s Social Assistance Department Anzhela Zaitseva told the Donetsk News Agency.

Low-income DPR residents are currently entitled to social assistance from the state, which is granted for a period of six months. A monthly allowance is worth 4,000 rubles. An additional 1,500-ruble benefit is granted per each child. Low-income families can also request discount rates from utilities and firewood or coal subsidies.*jk
