Donetsk, Oct 7 — DAN. Interim Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin has extended birthday greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin who turned 70 on Friday.  The congratulations message was published on Pushilin’s Telegram channel.

“It is difficult to overestimate Vladimir Putin’s role in the fate of Donbass, ” Pushilin said. “For eight and half years, the Russian president has been taking a very active part in helping us to establish peace in the region and secure our rights or simply people’s survival.”

He expressed particular gratitude to the Russian leader for the liberation operation to save Donbass.

“On behalf of my fellow countrymen I express my boundless gratitude to the president of the Russian Federation, and extend, on the occasion of his birthdate, my best wishes for health, happiness and new victories for the sake of great Russia and its people, ” the Head of the region said.

Vladimir Putin was born in Leningrad on October 7, 1952. His first presidential term began in March 2000; he had been interim president from December 31, 1999. In the spring of 2018 he was reelected for the fourth time to Russia’s top post for a term of six years.*jk
