Donetsk, Dec 8 — DAN. Vladimir Putin has said that he will run for president in the next presidential election in 2024.
Putin announced his plans as he was talking to Donetsk People’s Republic parliament speaker Aryom Zhoga following the presentation of Gold Star medals at an award giving ceremony in the Kremlin, RIA Novosti reported.
A request for Putin’s running for a new term was reportedly voiced during his informal conversation with participants in the ceremony at which top military decorations were presented to Heroes of Russia.
Earlier reports said that the Central Election Commission decided to hold the presidential election on March 15, 16 and 17, 2024. The CEC is expected to announce within the next few days if voting in the next presidential election will be held in the new Russian regions.*jk
