Donetsk, Mar 29 — DAN. President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree appointing Donetsk People’s Republic Prime Minister Vitaly Khotsenko Acting Governor of the Omsk Region.

The document published on the Kremlin website has come into force. It says that the president has accepted the resignation of Omsk Region governor Alexander Burkov. Khotsenko will  be the interim head of the region until the elected governor takes office.

DPR Acting Head Denis Pushilin has thanked Khotsenko for his selfless work praising him as a teamwork person.

“During the work in this capacity, Vitaly Khotsenko resolved a wealth of most challenging tasks including those related to the transitional integration period. The rich experience he gained at the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been of much help to the Republic. He is a professional ready to work for the good of Russia without sparing himself. His moving to the DPR in this unsafe time proves it, ” Pushilin said.

Khotsenko has been DPR prime minister since the summer of 2022. Previously, he worked as director of the Regional Industrial Policy and Project Management Department of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade. He had also worked as the Minister of Energy, Industry and Communications of the Stavropol Territory.*jk
