Donetsk, Sep 24 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic parliament amended the law on the tax system excluding the Ukrainian hryvna from the list of legal currencies used in natural resources and minerals settlements.

“The Russian ruble is the currency unit of the Donetsk People’s Republic, and the economic entities, regardless of the form of ownership, accept payments for goods, works and services in Russian rubles from natural persons and legal entities,” said member of the parliament committee on budget, finance and economic policy Alexander Khryakov. “ The law cements this fact and excludes from the law on the tax system the provisions on the use of the Ukrainian currency unit - the hryvna - in drawing the income from the sale of extracted natural resource or mineral.”

The amendments, approved at the first and second readings, were supported by 70 deputies present at the session. The document will be forwarded to the DPR Head for signing. It will come into force on the date of publication on the DPR parliament website.

On May 26, 2020, the DPR parliaiment took the Ukrainian hryvna off the list of the approved currencies in customs settllements.*jk
