Donetsk, Nov 22 – DAN. DPR repair teams have been unable to restore a burnt transformer station outside Kominternovo for almost two weeks as Ukraine refuses to provide security guarantees for the repair works, the DPR Mission to the JCCC said.

The Novoazovsk district in the DPR was targeted by the Ukrainian army on November 9, a high-voltage line sustained damage, and five transformer stations went off, leaving 237 households without power.

The electricity was promptly restored to 171 customers, but others remain affected, as one substation cannot be reached unless Ukraine provides safety guarantees to repair teams.

"The substation was hit with shrapnel and set on fire at the low-voltage 0.4 KV side and high-voltage 10 KV side. It completely burnt down, it can only be replaced now. We have submitted numerous requests with the Ukrainian side of the JCCC to issue security guarantees," the DPR Mission to the JCCCsaid.

No reply followed, the report added.

Earlier on Monday, 66 customers in Kominternovo were left without power as Kiev forces hit a transformer substation in the area. *ot
