Donetsk, Oct 10 — DAN. The federal budget draft approved by the Russian parliament committee on energy on Tuesday has allocated funds to restore and build electrical networks in the new regions and reorganize coal mines in Donbass, the Russian Energy Ministry reported.

“Russian Energy Minister (Nikolai Shulginov — eds Donetsk News Agency) said that the budget earmarks money in 2024-2026 for electrical network repairs and construction, power system emergency reserves and reorganization of operating coal mines in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, ” the Ministry’s press service said. 

The Finance Ministry is reserving these funds; Shulginov suggested bringing them to the Energy Ministry on a direct basis, it added. 

In September, the DPR government approved a subprogram for power grid repairs in 2023-2025. Its objective is to improve energy system stability and people’s living conditions and reduce the number of accidents. *jk
