Mariupol, May 4 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Acting Head Denis Pushilin and Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov have laid the foundation stone of an affiliate of the Nakhimov Naval School on the Sea of Azov coast  in Mariupol to mark the project launch.

“It’s another proof of our joining the big family of Russia which is now our country, ” Pushilin said. “Our young people will have the opportunity to make a conscious choice and learn a new profession in comfortable conditions without going far away from home.”

The emergence of the Nakhimov school will be symbolic for Donbass as these institutes began to appear in the USSR during the Great Patriotic War, and today, an affiliate on the Sea of Azov coast is being built amid the special military operation, he said.

“It (the School) has four affiliates: in Vladivostok, Murmansk, Kaliningrad and Sevastopol. Now it will be represented in the DPR’s city of Mariupol. A new modern academic building will open its doors to 560 students on September 1, 2024, ” Ivanov said.

The total area of all structures to be built there will reach 60,000 square meters. The facility will be equipped according to the Russian standards and include interactive classrooms.*jk
