Donetsk, Sep 12 — DAN. More than 270,000 people have voluntarily joined the Russian armed forces over the past six months, President Vladimir Putin said at the Eastern Economic Forum.
“As you know, we carried out a partial mobilization, we drafted 300,000 people. Now, in the past 6 to 7 months, 270,000 people voluntarily signed contracts for service in the armed forces and volunteer units,” the president said.
He also said that 1,000 to 1,500 people come to sign military service contracts every day adding that citizens are joining the army voluntarily.
Earlier, Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine had lost more than 71,000 servicemen in the course of it unsuccessful offensive.*jk
