Donetsk, May 16 — DAN. Young Donbass musicians will be able to join a Russian youth symphonic orchestra to participate in two concert sessions as part of the contest “Symphonic Academy for Young Musicians of Russia and Donbass, ” the press service of the Donetsk Philharmonic Society said on Tuesday.

It is the first joint project of young musicians from Russia and and its new regions. It aims to bring together creative youths, help them realize their talents and opportunities, and create a platform for cultural growth while interacting with a professional symphonic orchestra, experts, teachers and conductors, the press service said.

Contest winners will form a youth symphonic orchestra to draw public and young people’s attention to academic art and the need to develop domestic performing schools.

The project will be implemented in partnership with the state-run Belgorod State Philharmonic Society. The contest organizer is the Committee for Developing Sport and Creative Industries, the winner of the first contest of grants of the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives in 2023.

Master classes, concerts, creative labs and meetings will be arranged for the musicians during the contest. Leaders of Russia’s major orchestras who plan to attend the concerts will be expected to offer jobs to the best performers.

The contest application deadline is May 25.*jk
