Donetsk, Sep 20 - DAN. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has passed 1,320 blood pressure monitors and pulse oximeters to hospitals of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR Healthcare Ministry reported on Monday.
“Thanks to the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, 660 blood pressure monitors and 660 pulse oximeters were delivered to DPR primary care centres,” the Ministry said. “The equipment will enhance diagnostic opportunities of general practitioners and family doctors in identifying patients with cardiac pathology risks.”
Blood pressure monitor is used for measuring arterial tension, and pulse oximeter for measuring oxygen levels in a patient’s blood.
Earlier reports said that Switzerland had passed coronavirus infection test kits to the DPR.
The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation is a technical body within the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. The SDC coordinates the activity in developing countries and countries of Eastern Europe with the operations of other agencies, and also provides humanitarian assistance. For example, it contributes to strengthening economic and political independence and improving production environment, helps resolve environmental problems and contributes to broader access to education and basic medical services. *jk
