Donetsk, Jan 22 – DAN. The Principal Deputy Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine Alexander Hug confirmed that Kiev forces located their units in the vicinity of Donetsk water treatment plant (DFS).

''While we were present on the DFS we saw military objects under construction on Kiev-controlled side. They are located in the place where damage might be incurred. If the process is not stopped you know what might happen,' said Hug speaking at a press conference in Donetsk.

He emphasized the need to continue efforts aimed at the disengagement of forces in Donbass and achieving a durable ceasefire.

While Hug was inspecting the DFS shelling from Ukrainian positions was recorded.

Earlier DPR Command said that Ukrainian forces relocated their units to the area of Donetsk water treatment plant that should be clear of military presence under the Minsk Agreements. Reports said Kiev’s observation post was located 200m away from the plant with the allowed minimum distance of 1.5km.

Donetsk water treatment plant is located between Kiev-occupied Avdeyevka and Yasinovataya. It pumps water to the townships on both sides of the contact line. Donetsk and Yasinovataya, Vasilyevka and Spartak of DPR are dependent on it in the first place, as well as Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and Verkhnetoretskoye which are currently occupied by Kiev forces.*ot
