Donetsk, Jan 24 – DAN. The U.S. state department special representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker and commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko discussed on Tuesday a scenario of active phase of Donbass military operation, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin citing intelligence.
"According to a source in Ukrainian defense ministry, Muzhenko and Volker discussed both state of affairs in Donbass and receiving American lethal arms and prospects of the conflict growing into active military action," he said.
Republican intelligence reported that hospital in Mariupol and neighboring towns had been instructed to prepare for growing admissions. "This is another prove of Kiev preparing escalation," Basurin said.
Representatives of Kiev and Washington met in Kiev on Tuesday. US ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch also took part. According to press reports, the sides exchanged opinions on important issues concerning regional security and US-Ukraine relationship development". *ot
