Donetsk, Jul 13 - DAN. The humanitarian situation was the key topic at the meeting between Donetsk People’s Republic leader Denis Pushilin and head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission to Ukraine Florence Gillette, the ICRC official said at a press conference in Donetsk on Tuesday.
“I met with Mr Pushilin and Mrs Nikonorova (DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova - eds Donetsk News Agency), “ Gillette said. "We discussed humanitarian situation issues, the population needs and the aid we provide to improve the situation.”
She said that the DPR frontline areas were in the most difficult situation where local residents needed urgent assistance.
“I’ve observed all this time that frontline areas residents experience humanitarian problems the most.” The ICRC is doing everything to ease the situation in Donetsk, Gillette said.
Earlier reports on Tuesday said that head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission to Ukraine Florence Gillette arrived in Donetsk on a visit.*jk
