Donetsk, Dec 12 — DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin has been included in the State Council of the Russian Federation. The decree introducing amendments to the composition of the State Council was signed by President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday.

The State Council also included Lugansk People’s Republic Head Leonid Pasechnik, the governors of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions Vladimir Saldo and Yevgeny Balitsky, the governors of the Smolensk and Omsk regions, the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Chukot Autonomous Area and the Murmansk mayor.

The document, published on the official legal information portal has come into force.

Russia’s State Council is a constitutional state, advisory and consultative body which is formed by the Russian president with the view to ensure coordinated functioning and interaction between government agencies and set the key guidelines for the domestic and foreign policies of the Russian Federation and priorities for the country’s socio-economic development. Putin signed the decree establishing the State Council on September 1, 2000 and approved the provisions on the consultative body’s objectives and working procedure.*jk
