Shakhtyorsk District, Oct 5 - DAN. DPR Prosecutor General’s Office decided to resume preliminary investigation into the Malaysian Boeing-777 crash on 17 July 2014.

“Prosecutors are reopening the investigation following local residents’ reports on finding fragments of the passenger Boeing downed by Ukrainian military because these fragments are important evidence in the case,” PGO Investigation Department special cases investigator Maxim Pevtiyev told reporters on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, PGO personnel travelled to the crash area to collect the fragments found by local residents.

The Boeing-777 of Malaysian Airlines flying from Amsterdam to Kuala-Lumpur crashed near Torez  on 17 July 2014. There were no survivors among the 298 people on board. The investigation into the plane crash has been conducted by the Joint Investigation Team comprising representatives of the Netherlands, Ukraine, Australia, Malaysia and Belgium.*jk
