Donetsk, Jun 14 — DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Foreign Ministry has been authorized to accredit foreign journalists or strip them of accreditation, the DPR parliament press service reported on Tuesday.
“The draft law proposes to vest the DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the power to accredit and strip accreditation from foreign journalists in the Donetsk People’s Republic in coordination with the State Security Ministry, according to the procedure prescribed by the DPR Head, ” said chairman of the DPR parliament committee on foreign policy, international relations, information policy and IT Alexander Bykadorov as he presented the lawbill.
The parliamentarians supported the proposed amendments to the law on mass media.
Earlier, accreditation of foreign journalists in the DPR was a responsibility of the Republic’s Information Ministry.*jk
