Donetsk, Jul 14 — DAN. The Russian Investigative Committee is currently prosecuting 178 foreigners for participating in hostilities on the side of Ukraine, the SK press service reported on Friday.

“Over the past two weeks, the SK has passed resolutions on prosecuting another 18 foreigners as part of the criminal case over mercenary recruitment and participation on the side of the Ukrainian army, ” the press service said after an SK session in Mariupol.

Criminal prosecution is being implemented against 178 foreign nationals from more than 30 countries including the United States, Great Britain, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, France, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Korea, Israel, Georgia and Brazil, the SK said.

Earlier reports said that Kiev was seeking to recruit more mercenaries from Asia and Latin America amid its failed mobilization.*jk
