Donetsk, Mar 4 - DAN. Ukrainian population needs Donbass’ assistance, Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin said at a meeting with culture workers on Thursday.

“We are talking about Russians and Russian-speaking people living across Ukraine who need our assistance. We have more opportunities for it,” Pushilin said. “A Russian is never focused on their own problems: they also see other people who need support. Even if we take into account the fact that we have enough problems of our own. We know and understand it, but we have no right not to give the helping hand to those who have bigger problems.”

In February 2017, the DPR launched a program to help compatriots living in areas temporarily controlled by Kiev. Its objective is to strengthen cultural, humanitarian and professional ties and provide social and public services.

In January 2021, the DPR said at the international forum “Russian Donbass” that the programme would expand to cover all Ukrainian regions.*jk
