Donetsk, Sep 2 – DAN. Late DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko has been laid to rest at the Donetsk Donetskoye More cemetery on Sunday.
The memorial ceremony began in the morning in the Donbass Opera where the casket was lying in state, and a diverse crowd of prominent politician, foreign delegates, ministers, civil servants and military walked past the flag-draped coffin.
Outside, 200,000 onlookers filled the streets in a queue of several kilometers to pay tribute to the national hero. Local and foreign politicians gave readings during the memorial service.
Following the four-hour ceremony pallbearers carried the casket of Alexander Zakharchenko from the theater and put it into the gun carrier of an artillery peace, towed by a truck, and the procession walked along the Donetsk main street to the Head's Administration, escorted by the military honor guard.
The coffin was moved from the hearse and from there was brought to the Donetskoye More cemetery, and the late DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko was buried at his final resting place at the Donetskoye More cemetery.
At 2 p.m. local time car horns sounded across the Republic to commemorate the nation's Dad, as the people of Donbass used to call Zakharchenko. *ot
