The first leader of the DPR sacrificed everything for the sake of his countrymen, future generations will learn to love and defend their homeland following his example, the current Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin said on the anniversary of the death of Alexander Zakharchenko.
“The years go by, but there are always fresh flowers at the site where Alexander Zakharchenko died. That’s the way it should be. He sacrificed everything for the sake of his countrymen. In the most difficult time, he took on the burden of governing the Republic, knowing that he was risking his life every minute. But he didn’t flinch, he didn’t back down. His brothers-in-arms reverently called him Batya as he preferred a trench to office work in his fearlessness, ” the leader of the state wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to Pushilin, even after his death, the Hero of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, is bringing the victory closer, because his brothers-in-arms who are liberating Donbass today follow his suit. The descendants will learn to love and defend their homeland by the example of his life.
“He, a simple Donetsk guy, lived his life in such a way that he deserved to be enshrined not only in the history of Donbass, but also of Russia, ” Pushilin emphasized.
“It is not for nothing that streets and squares are named after him in different parts of the Russian Federation.”
DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko won the DPR Head election on November 2, 2014. Major General, he was injured several times during the war, and was awarded the Golden Star of the Republic’s Hero and other awards. He died in an explosion in central Donetsk on August 31, 2018.
