Donetsk, Nov 6 — DAN. Some 300 volunteers from the new regions will lead delegations of participants in the World Youth Festival 2024, the press service of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodyozh) told the Donetsk News Agency.
“A 5,000-strong international volunteer corps will include 295 activists from the new territories (143 from the Donetsk People’s Republic, 68 from the Lugansk People’s Republic, 70 from the Zaporozhye region and 14 from the Kherson region, ” the press service said.
In September, a training center was launched in the Zaporozhye region to select applications and train and coordinate volunteers from the new territories. Rosmolodyozh earlier said that some 3,500 people from the new regions had applied for participation in the World Youth Festival.
The festival will take place in the first half of March in the Sirius federal territory. It will bring together more than 20,000 people from 180 countries. The event is aimed at building connections between young people from the across the world, showing Russia’s openness, and promoting attractive Russian values, culture and the country’s image in the international arena.*jk
