Donetsk, Jan 18 - DAN. United Donbass Foundation paid 43 million rubles worth of financial assistance to the needy Donbass residents last year, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said on Thursday.

United Donbass Foundation, under the aegis of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme, is continuing to help residents in a difficult situation,” Balykin said. “In 2017, the Foundation reviewed 1,499 applications requesting a total of 43,741,740 rubles worth of financial aid; 1,474 payments were made totalling 43,101,740 rubles.”

On 19 January, it will meet for the first time this year to consider 400 sets of documents.

DPR launched United Donbass Foundation on 9 March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification programme started on 17 February 2017. The programme envisions cash payments and provision of food and medications which can also be contributed by Donetsk People’s Republic residents. *jk
