Donetsk, Feb 20 - DAN. United Donbass Foundation has paid 4.5 million rubles worth of financial assistance to the needy since the beginning of 2018, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin told a news briefing at Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“As of 19 February 2018, 120 payments totalling 4,422,000 roubles had been made under two protocols approved by the Foundation’s Commission,” Balykin said. “Among the recipients were 67 residents of Kiev-held areas of Donetsk region.”
“Since the beginning of this year, the Foundation has approved 506 requests from across the region for financial aid reaching over 17.5 million rubles, he added.
Average one-time payments to Donbass residents amount to 36,100 rubles ($640), the maximum payment is about 60,000 rubles ($1,061).
DPR launched United Donbass Foundation on 9 March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification programme. The programme envisions cash payments and provision of food and medications which can also be contributed by Donetsk People’s Republic residents. *jk
