Donetsk, May 28 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation social organisation has provided financial aid to more than 8,500 needy residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kiev-held areas of the Donetsk region since the start of its operation in 2017, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“The Foundation has paid 8,543 applicants a total of 304,198,840 rubles since it was launched,” Balykin said.
It approved payments to 8,900 needy residents in the designated period, he added.
The Foundation’s Commission reviewed 624 applications at the previous meeting on May 23. Of those 160 were approved to the tune of more than five million rubles.
The Donetsk People’s Republic set up the United Donbass Foundation in March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme. Its objective is to help needy residents both in the DPR and Kiev-held areas of the Donetsk region.*jk
