Donetsk, Nov 2 - DAN. United Donbass Foundation has provided one-time financial aid to more than 880 needy residents of DPR and Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk Region since March 2017, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said on Thursday.

“As of 1 November, 883 payments had been made totalling 26,048,840 rubles; 13,071,045 rubles of the sum were paid to 428 applicants living in Kiev-held areas of Donetsk region, and 12,977,795 rubles to 455 applicants in DPR,” Balykin said.

The Foundation’s  Commission plans to review more than 200 applications for help at its 14th meeting on 3 November.

DPR launched United Donbass Foundation on 9 March 2017 as part of the Donbass people reunification programme approved by DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy on 17 February 2017.

The programme envisions cash payments and provision of food and medications which can also be contributed by DPR residents. Nine groups are eligible for assistance, including persons in the 1st and 2nd disability categories, single parent families with children up to 18 years of age, families with three or more children up to 18 years of age, citizens aged over 65 and some other groups. *jk
