Donetsk, Jul 3 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation social organisation has approved some 118 million rubles worth of financial aid to more than 3,000 people in the region since the beginning of this year, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“The Commission has met 12 times in 2018. It has reviewed 5,304 requests for aid; of those 3,014 were approved to the tune of 117,849,200 rubles,” Balykin said.

The payments on the applications approved at the latest meeting are due to begin shortly, he added.

“The Foundation’s Commission has reviewed 9,624 applications for financial aid since the start of its operation in the spring of 2017; of those 4,513 requests to the tune of 161,590,940 rubles have been approved,” the Foundation chairman said. As of June 30, 97,931,200 rubles had been paid to 2,509 recipients.

Donetsk People’s Republic Head Alexander Zakharchenko ordered to establish the United Donbass Foundation under the aegis of the Donbass people reunification programme in March 2017. It provides assistance to residents of the DPR and Kiev-controlled areas who have found themselves in a difficult situation.*jk
