Donetsk, May 22 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation social organisation has approved 80 million rubles worth of financial assistance to more than 2,000 applicants from across the region since the beginning of this year, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
"The Commission has met nine times in 2018. It reviewed 3,751 requests approving 2,076 of of them to the tune of 80,377,300 rubles,” Balykin said.
At the latest meeting on May 18, it approved 339 requests for financial aid. Some 30 percent of the needy in Kiev-controlled territory are residents of Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and Maryinka. In the Donetsk People's Republic, a majority of recipients live in Donetsk, Makyevka and Enakievo.
The Donetsk People’s Republic launched the United Donbass Foundation on March 9, 2017. It has provided financial assistance to 2,968 people since with the sum of payments approaching 100 million rubles.*jk
