Donetsk, Jun 19 - DAN. The United Donbass Foundation social organisation has paid some 150 million rubles worth of financial assistance to more than 4,000 people in need across the region since the start of its operation, Foundation chairman Oleg Balykin said at a press briefing at the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“The Foundation’s Commission has reviewed 9,108 applications for financial aid since the spring of 2017; of those, 4,211 requests to the tune of 149,712,940 rubles have been approved,” Balykin said.

As of June 16, 2018, the social organisation had paid a total of 84,211,400 rubles to 2,172 applicants. The Foundation Commission plans to review some 500 applications at its next session on June 29, he added.

The United Donbass Foundation, established at DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko’s order in March 2017, provides assistance to residents of the DPR and Kiev-controlled areas who have found themselves in a difficult situation.*jk
