Donetsk, Sep 15 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic law-enforcement bodies have ascertained that the Security Service of Ukraine and western secret services masterminded the assassination of DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko, acting Head of the Republic Denis Pushilin told reporters on Saturday.

“Our law-enforcement bodies have carried out investigative actions. There’s absolute understanding of who did it. The 5th Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine was involved in the terrorist attack,” Pushilin said.

An analysis of bomb fragments detected traces of high technologies which were not available to Ukraine, pointing at the involvement of western secret services in planning the murder, he added.

Pushilin noted that experts from the Russian Federation, at DPR authorities’ request, were providing active assistance in investigating the murder.

Earlier reports said DPR law-enforcement bodies had detained a DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko murder suspect and that he had given information.

An explosion ripped through the Separ restaurant in the centre of the DPR capital at around 17:00 on August 31, killing the Republic’s Head Alexander Zakharchenko and his guard. Twelve people were wounded; five of them were hospitalised and outpatient treatment was provided to another seven.*jk
