Donetsk, Oct 3 – DAN. Donetsk polling stations were crowded in the Donbass first ever primaries. The yesterday’s vote is meant to pave the way for the anticipated local elections in the region, and strengthen the DPR’s developing political system.

“We already proved our strength, dignity and solidarity to the world, as we stuck together in the face of atrocity and injustice in 2014, and now it is time to win in politics,” claimed Republic’s Head Alexander Zakharchenko as he went to cast his ballot and urged fellow citizens not to stand aside.

Voters in Donetsk and its suburbs were to choose candidates capable to run for  mayor, city council and local offices positions. The results and turnout numbers were officially revealed today by the Interim Voting Commission.
