Donetsk, May 10 — DAN. Mariupol Zoo has transferred seven young bears to a private safari park in Crimea, Zoo Director Savely Vashura told the Donetsk News Agency on Wednesday.

“We’ve recently moved seven young bears to Crimea’s ‘Taigan’ safari park, ” Vashura said.

Earlier reports said that seven lionesses would replenish Europe’s largest predator park in the Crimea.

“Taigan” is a private lion park whose collection of predators is the largest in Europe. It is located in the Belogorsk district of the peninsula. The park occupies an area of 32 hectares, including some 20 hectares for safari lion park. It is the only park in Europe to keep white lions from South Africa, white Bengal tigers and Amur tigers. The park has more than 500 animal species overall.*jk
