Donetsk, Sep 29 — DAN. President Vladimir Putin has praised the Russian fighters who repelled an attack by a superior enemy unit near the Urozhainoye settlement area in the west of the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Kremlin website reported on Friday following the Russian leader’s meeting with the servicemen.

“Of course, it is one of the significant, good examples of courage and heroism. I understand though that nobody thinks that way during actual combat, ” Putin told the servicemen. “You must be thinking about how to work combat-wise, how to repel the enemy attack, but you did precisely what we’ve called it today after it became known, and this is precisely heroism in the literal sense of the word.”

Privates Ivan Kalashnikov and Vyasheslav Tarasov and Private First Class Alexey Ivliyev attended the meeting in person, while Senior Sergeant Viktor Khamaganov joined it via a video link.

On August 22, the Russian motorized riflemen repelled the attack by 12 Ukrainian storm troopers near the Urozhainoye settlement. Ivan Kalashnikov was awarded the title of Hero of Russia. Alexey Ivliyev, Vyacheslav Tarasov and Viktor Khamaganov were decorated with the Order of Courage.*jk
