Donetsk, May 15 - DAN. More than 70,000 people have accessed the Donetsk People’s Republic mobile operator Phoenix 3G service, the DPR Communications Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.

“As of today, 72,000 Phoenix customers use 3G Internet,” a Ministry representative said.

Phoenix test-launched the 3G network on December 25, 2017. Voice traffic and SMS messaging were not initially provided; the full package of services became available to customers in Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka from March 14.

Phoenix has plans to launch 3G networks in other DPR towns.

Phoenix is the first DPR mobile operator covering the whole territory of the republic. It was test-launched in June 2015 and began full-fledged operation in February 2016.*jk
