Donetsk, Mar 14 – DAN. DPR mobile carrier Phoenix is now offering full-scale 3G network to its customers in Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka, the operator's press service said.

"Today, March 14, Republican mobile carrier has launched 3G network operating full-scale in Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka. In addition to data communication service, which was previously available, customers now can make calls and send text messages."

The company took all measures to make 3G available; it unstalled a new commutator, launched 3G base stations controller communicating with the DPR landline, Phoenix database, SMS center, USSD center and billing platform.

"Phoenix plans to increase the number of 3G base stations not only in Donetsk, Makeyevka and Gorlovka, but also in other Republican cities.

DPR’s first national mobile carrier covers the entire Republic’s territory. It was test-launched on 16 June 2015. Six weeks later, mobile subscriptions became available at 120 rubles ($2) at DPR post offices. Phoenix began to operate at full capacity in February 2016. One can top up the account balance in payment terminals, at post offices or by using a scratch card. *ot
