Donetsk, Jan 12 – DAN. More than 4,000 graduates of DPR universities received Russian higher education certificates in 2021, twice as much as in 2020, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science told DAN.

According to the statement, 4,123 graduates of educational institutions of higher professional education of the Donetsk People's Republic received certificates of the Russian Federation at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year, of which 22.1% are diplomas with honors."

It is mentioned that more than 11.5 thousand people graduated from higher educational institutions last year.

In 2020, graduates of Republican universities were awarded about 2,000 Russian higher education certificates.

Earlier, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic, Mikhail Kushakov, told DAN that “the entire educational system of the DPR has switched to Russian educational standards and programmes.”

Donetsk National Medical University named after Gorky was the first of the DPR universities to receive Russian accreditation, in October 2018. To date, six higher educational institutions and five secondary vocational education organizations have received the right to issue certificates recognized in the  Russian Federation. In total, there are 18 institutions of higher education in the Republic and 97 vocational colleges. *ot
