Shakhtyorsk, Nov 8 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic mobile operator Phoenix plans to install some ten base stations in Shakhtyorsk in the near future as part of ongoing network upgrades, acting Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said during his visit to the town on Thursday.

“Phoenix will install some ten base stations by November 15 if I’m not mistaken,” Pushilin said in response to local residents’ question about the mobile service quality prospects. “Tangible changes will occur.”

Pushilin also said that the operator would gradually renew the telecommunications equipment.

Earlier reports said that Phoenix would install 52 base stations in 22 DPR settlements in the autumn to improve service quality.

Phoenix is the first DPR mobile operator covering the whole territory of the Republic. It was test-launched in June 2015 and began full-fledged operation in February 2016. The domestic operator currently has over 1.3 million customers.*jk
