Donetsk, Sep 27 - DAN. Nearly 450 violations of labor protection norms were recorded during inspections of underground man- and cargo haulage equipment at collieries in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the DPR Mines Inspectorate reported on Monday.

The Mines Inspectorate launched a check after the accident at the Krasny Partizan colliery in the Sverdlovsk district of the Lugansk People's Republic on September 6 in which nine workers were killed and another 19 were injured as a mine cage cable snapped.

“From September 7 to September 15, a DPR Mine Inspectorate team checked the condition of tunnels, industrial safety and labor protection in the operation of equipment intended for mechanized transportation of people and cargo through tunnels,” the report said. “As many as 439 violations of safety rules and other labor protection regulations were found.”

The key violations included the unworthiness of hoister cables and their use without regular tests, non-operating parachutes of man-riding cars, operation of winches with damaged ropes , сoupler fix damage etc. In 17 cases, the inspectors prohibited the operation of machinery and transportation equipment. Fifteen officials were fined for failure to maintain proper control and remedy the violations, and eight workers were disciplined.

Earlier reports said that Emergencies Ministry specialists recorded more than 600 violations during a recent snap inspection of collieries. *jk
