Donetsk, Sep 20 - DAN. A large forum of social organisations “Donbass Future” opened in the Donetsk People’s Republic capital on Thursday.
The event on Lenin Square in central Donetsk has brought together some 10,000 people, according to the Donetsk News Agency’s estimate.
Delegations of trade unions, social organisations and movements and residents from across the DPR are taking part in the forum. Many are holding DPR flags in their hands. Heads of DPR ministries and departments and parliamentarians are among the participants.
Acting DPR Head Denis Pushilin has joined the forum and is expected to address the participants shortly.
Health care and education officials and representatives of the key branches of the Republic’s economy will speak at the forum.
Russian pop stars will perform in central Donetsk after the end of the official events.
Security has been tightened in the DPR capital; hundreds of police, State Security Ministry officers and Emergencies Ministry personnel are on duty for the forum.*jk
