Donetsk, Oct 5 - DAN. Ukrainian army Main Intelligence Department (GUR) plans to provoke large clashes on the contact line, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko said on Thursday.
“Ukrainian armed forces GUR is planning to provoke large clashes on the contact line to give the Kiev regime justification for foiling the Ukrainian parliament vote for prolonging Donbass’ special status,” Zakharchenko said.
According to his information, DPR is expecting massive strikes at the Republic’s territory in the nearest future.
“After shelling our territory, they will accuse us of mounting tensions, which they did more than once. OSCE will keep silent as usual, and the deputies will have a pretext not to prolong the operation of the special status,” the DPR leader said.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian president Petr Poroshenko submitted a lawbill to the parliament suggesting that the law on special status of Donbass be extended by one year. Interfax Ukraine news agency reported on Thursday that the Ukrainian parliament committee on national security and defence recommended to return the legislation to Poroshenko for finalising.*jk
